First staged in October 1962, WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF could come to London’s West End some time in the future.

Written by playwright Edward Albee, WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF, a play on the title of the song Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf, was first staged on Broadway in 1962. This production won the Tony Award for Best Play in 1963 and a subsequent film adaptation starring Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor came out in 1966.

The most recent London prouction was directed by James Macdonald in 2017 at the Harold Pinter theatre starring Imelda Staunton, Conleth Hill, Imogen Potts, and Luke Treadaway, and based on its success it’s likely that the show will return to the London stage.
