What is John Gabriel Borkman about?

John Gabriel Borkman, a man known for his success and entrepreneurial spirit, has been brought down from on high by the prison sentence he served for fraud. While he stresses and dreams of his own personal comeback, his wife plans how they’ll restore their family name to its good graces. Upon the arrival of John’ s sister, the past rears its ugly head and the family faces demons they believed they’d put behind them.
