ANGELS IN AMERICA is a multi-award-winning play by American playwright Tony Kushner.

The play first premiered part one in 1991 and part two in 1992, with a full Broadway opening in 1993 which won Tony Awards for Best Play, Best Actor in a Play, and Best Direction of a Play, as well as being awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

A new production of ANGELS IN AMERICA came to London’s National Theatre in 2017 starring Andrew Garfield, Russell Tovey, and Denise Gough, and subsequently won Olivier Awards for Best Revival and Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Play, as well as being nominated for four other awards. This production was also recorded and broadcast worldwide as part of National Theatre Live, and has since been released on National Theatre’s home streaming service.

Due to the overwhelming reception of this production, it’s likely that this play will return to London’s West End some time in the future.
